Lake Michigan Sunset – One item that will ALWAYS be on our Summer Bucket List!!

Summer 2018 was incredible, wasn’t it?!? How did you and your family spend your summer? Are you ready for what’s next?

Our Summer 2018 was a mix, as usual!! Some days were spent doing all the things, and some were spent relaxing and not doing much at all. Some days my kids said were the “Best Day Ever”, and some, they complained, were boring. 🙄 It’s really about balance for me as a mom of three very active kids to spend as many days off relaxing at the pool as we do participating in other planned activities. And let’s be honest, how relaxing is it really to be at the pool with three kids? 😬

My kids stay pretty active all summer as I’m sure yours do too. Soccer, swimming, bike rides and camps. But I won’t sugar coat it…They also play their fair share of video games, max out their iPad time and get their little hands on any piece of technology they can. Please don’t judge! It’s a sanity saver at times! Some days they also get along for maybe a total of six hours before someone inevitably says or does something unacceptable, and the only way to settle it is either a full-out screaming match or it’s Wrestlemania over here! 💀 Sometimes I intervene, but I also have times that I like to let them figure it out on their own. Again, it’s all about the balance. (And this is when I typically break out the Min-Tran – you will have to ask me about this at the office if you don’t already have this on hand) 😉 Anyway, at the end of each day I ask myself, “Did they spend enough time with each other, friends, neighbors, cousins, teammates? Did they have enough active time today? Did they have enough time to be kids?”

Because we all know what is coming….. The routines of BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!!! Who’s ready and who doesn’t want summer to end???

Again, my answer is with mixed emotions. I know it is best for all of us to get back to the routines of earlier bedtimes, more learning, and less downtime. But I sure do plan to squeeze in one last water balloon fight, trip to the pool, and bonfire this weekend. And hey, maybe I’ll let the kids have a s’more since they won’t be seeing one of those things again until next summer! Balance, right?!

Some of my favorite memories from this summer in pictures…

After all this fun, something I will definitely make time for before back to school (and during the year of course!) is getting my kids in for their regular chiropractic adjustment. Why? Because, like you, my kids’ health is our most valuable possession in life! And for them to be at their most optimal health, their nervous system has to be functioning at 100%. With chiropractic care, this is possible for my little tree-climbers, ninja warriors, drummers, dancers and video gamers! Bring yours in for chiropractic care so they can live their best lives too!

So maybe you’re the queen of Pinterest worthy lunch boxes packed full of wholesome nutritious items or maybe your kids eat hot Cheetos. 🤷‍ Either way, adding a chiropractor to their wellness team will help your child to thrive in this fast-paced, technology-driven world! Their future self will thank you!

Enjoy your last official summer weekend everyone and I wish you all the BEST school year!!!

In good health,
